Welcome to KB Kindergarten!
I my name is Mrs. Lisa Brown and I have been teaching at Saint Christopher Academy and this is my 14th year.
I enjoy going on walking trails with my family and going to the beach. I am looking forward to the new school year and meeting new students!
The start of the Kindergarten school year is an exciting time! It is the beginning of new friendships and opening the doors to learning, exploring and discovery together. The students will meet new classmates, school routines and teachers. This month our theme is 'Time to Shine' as we share our getting to know each other through a craft activity 'sun activity'. We begin all subjects of the curriculum.
Phonics/ Reading
Each week a letter of the week and high frequency words are introduced and practiced with writing, reading with our new reading and literacy program. It introduces and focuses on a new book each week with letters, high frequency words, reading comprehension and writing.
Math: Sorting and classifying objects in different ways: by color, shape, and a combination of more than one attribute.
Science: Colors, apples and trees.
Religion: God made everything, Creation
Character trait: The deer teaches to be Attentive
Specials begin: Library, Gym, Spanish, Music and Art begins ( please send in paint shirt )
