Welcome to the Library
The library serves to instill a love of reading, inspire lifelong learning, and foster the ability for students to use the library independently.
Students visit once a week with their class to check out books and to practice using the online catalog. The library is a place where students feel comfortable visiting not only with their class, but also during recess or lunch to choose that must have book. It is a place where students can connect with each other through books.
Many students enjoy shelving books and helping in the library. Through that experience they discover many new books!
I enjoy interacting with every student in every class on a weekly basis and talking with students one on one when they come to my desk to check out a book. It is wonderful helping them find the right book that meets their interests, whether it is for a book report or pleasure reading.
I enjoy listening to students share their excitement about a book that they read and listening to them recommend books to their classmates.
