1R October Newsletter

Happy October and happy fall! We are now in a new month and a new season! In addition to the curriculum we started in September, we have added Heggerty and My View, our reading and writing program. We alternate science and social studies among quarters so this quarter we are doing social studies because it goes along with the theme of neighborhoods in our My View unit. 

 

In Fundations, we have moved on from letters to cvc words, sight/tricky words, short vowels, and digraphs. In Math, we previously worked on writing numbers (1, 2, 3, etc) and words (one, two, three, etc). Now we are adding on to that to include (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc) and (first, second, third, etc). In Religion, we have started doing virtues of the month. The virtue for the month of October is Gratitude.

 

At home, please read with your child and have them write whenever they can. Thank you!
