1R February Newsletter
Happy February!
Here are some updates for this month:
In Fundations, we will be moving onto Unit 10. In this unit we will learn closed syllables that have five sounds. An example is slump. We will also be adding suffixes to these five sound closed syllables such as slumps, slumped, and slumping. I will add on to the vowel teams we have been learning, teaching oa, oe, ow, ou, oo, ue, ew, au, and aw. The trick words we will learn are many, any, how, now, down, out, about, and our.
In MyView, we will be moving onto Unit 4: Making History.
In Religion, our virtue of the month is love.
In Math, we are working on teen numbers all the way up until number 100.
Please practice trick words at home. If possible it would be great to make notecards and practice each night before bed. At home, please read with your child and have them write whenever they can. Thank you!
