1R April Newsletter
Happy April!
Here are some updates for this month:
In Fundations, we will be moving onto Unit 12. In this unit we will be working on multisyllabic words, such as napkin (nap-kin), sunfish (sun-fish), magnet (mag-net), reptile (rep-tile), plastic (plas-tic), frantic (fran-tic), dislike (dis-like), excuse (ex-cuse), limit (lim-it), and upset (up-set). The trick words we will learn are people, month, Mr., Mrs., want, own, been, and little.
In MyView/Science, we will be moving onto Unit 5: Beyond My World. Spelling words for each week are posted on Google Classroom and emailed. Please make sure your child is practicing their spelling words each night.
In Religion, our virtue of the month is justice.
In Math, we will continue doing our Addition race. We will also move onto geometry, time, money, measurement, weight, volume, graphing, and two digit number addition. Please have your child practice their math facts at home, either on paper or using the IXL and XtraMath apps.
Please practice trick words at home. If possible it would be great to make notecards and practice each night before bed. At home, please read with your child and have them write whenever they can, in addition to using Lexia. Thank you!
