Happy May!
Here are some updates for this month:
In Fundations, we will be moving onto Unit 13 and Unit 14, which is the last Fundations unit. In Unit 13, we will be adding one more suffix ending to words. This suffix will be es and it will be added to closed syllable words, such as lunch, to make lunches, and wish, to make wishes. The trick words we will learn are word, work, write, their, being, first, look, good, and new. In Unit 14, we will be reviewing the word structures and the concepts learned this year. The trick words we will learn are water, called, day, may, and way.
In MyView/Science, we will be finishing Unit 5: Beyond My World, which is the last MyView unit. Spelling words for each week are posted on Google Classroom and emailed. Please make sure your child is practicing their spelling words each night.
In Religion, our virtue of the month is compassion.
In Math, we will continue doing our Addition/Subtraction races. We will also finish up Chapter 8: Money and Time, before moving onto Chapter 9: Measurement, and Chapter 10: Addition: Two-Digit Numbers. Please have your child practice their math facts at home, either on paper or using the IXL and XtraMath apps.
Please practice trick words at home. If possible it would be great to make notecards and practice each night before bed. At home, please read with your child and have them write whenever they can, in addition to using Lexia. Thank you!
