October

ELA-We continue to correct our morning messages  and review phonics skills like rhyming, segmenting, blending, and letter sounds. We have started ELA centers where students are working on writing upper and lower case letters and practicing sight words. We are reading stories about autumn and pumpkins. When reading we are making connections to other texts.

Math- Students are learning  about geometry. They have learned about solid and plane figures. Students continue to practice counting and writing numbers.

Science- Students  observed our class tree, discussed the seasons and recorded changes.   As a class we also talked about the life cycle of a pumpkin.

Social Studies- We continue to talk about good character. This month we have focused on obedience and the difference between disobedience and a mistake. We talked about fire safety and even had a visit from the fire department!

Religion- In class we talked about The Holy Family and our own families. Students also learned about and experienced Adoration.
