Spring is right around the corner!

Spring is upon us and in 3S we are heading towards the celebration of Lent and not only the blessing of Christ rising from the dead but also the celebration of his second greatest gift to us - The Eucharist. 

 

We will be talking about Lent and exploring this great Feast as we approach the Easter Season. Even more important that Spring is the realization that God gave his only Son for us and we will be exploring the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. As Fr. Mike Schmitz has said, every time we approach the Eucharist we should be saying to ourselves, "This is Jesus!"

 

We have been actively learning new words in spelling and I am implementing a board where students can post words that they do not know so that we can study the words and come to learn not just how to spell them but to understand what they sound like and mean. 

 

In Math, students have begun to work on Long Division. Using the skills that they have gained thorough study of multiplication, they have discovered the secret to long division and are on the cusp of seeing that math does not always have to be complex.

 

In English, we are learning about Historical Fiction and working on the development of their own stories, combining science and writing, about Aliens from exoplanets and what they do, how they live and their ways of dealing with life.
