October News

Happy Fall! We are in the swing of things, and 4G is doing a great job with their organization and switching classes. October is super busy and we will end the month celebrating with our first grade buddies!

 

Some of the concentrations this month...

Religion: The Beatitudes and how to live as a disciple of Jesus, building the Kingdom of God here on Earth, taking responsibility for our choices, being respectful, and venial and mortal sin. 

 

Reading: Informational texts, vocabulary, prefixes, context clues, and long vowel sounds.

We are practicing cursive more, and incorporating it into various assignments. Reading our stories aloud, we are working on fluency, tone, and clarity. 

 

English: 4th grade is focusing on the various types of Nouns this month. We are also learning to diagram sentences and understand the mechanics of Grammar.

5th grade is focusing on the uses of Pronouns, Vocabulary, and Study Skills. Both grades are discovering the importance of good note taking skills. To end the month, we all will do fun and creative Halloween stories!
