November News

November already? Time is sure flying by in 4G! Our days are full of learning and fun!

Religion: Our focus is on our conscience as our guide. We will discuss how we examine our conscience by thinking about the ways we have loved God and others. This will take us into the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. Some key terms covered are forgiveness, repent, reconciled, penitent, absolution, and confession. We will talk more about The Act of Contrition and its meaning.

Reading: Our My View readings will focus on Biographies and different animal stories. We will learn about summarizing, main idea and details, and dictionary skills. Graphic organizers and outlining have been introduced, and we are turning these notes into stories. Our next book report will be winter themed and the genre is Biography.

English: 4th graders will concentrate on Pronouns. We will learn all of the pronouns to help avoid repetition of nouns. 5th graders will move onto Adjectives. We will learn how adjectives modify or add to the meaning of nouns or pronouns, as well as making our writing much more interesting!

Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much to be thankful for!
