Fourth Grade Art Class

​Your students will have art class once a week for 50 minutes. In fourth grade we love to do fiber arts. This unit includes weaving, sewing, and embroidery. We look at weaving around the world and the history of embroidery and sewing. I feel like students would do fiber arts all day if you let them! Once they get going, I have to pull it out of their hands for cleanup time. They really get lost in their work. We also enjoy a unit on artwork inspired by food including clay pancakes, chalk pastel gumballs inspired by Wayne Thibeault, and 3D plaster craft ice cream cones!
