Here is what we learned  in kindergarten:

 

ELA- Our sight words this week are by, my, all, help, her. We focused on segmenting CVC words (constant, vowel, constant) and have been practicing identifying the middle sound. During centers students worked on sight words and individual areas of need. If your child is not secure in identifying upper and lower case letters and is not comfortable with the letter sounds please practice this at home. Everyone should continue to practice reading their sight words.

 

Math- We are still working on greater than, less than, and equal to. In class we have been practicing creating and reading bar graphs. We are now counting by 1’s to 120,2’s to 20, 5’s to 20, 10’s to 110.

 

Religion - We talked about the wonders of God’s creations. We continue to read from the children’s Bible.

 

Science/Social Studies- We have been discussing hibernation. We have learned about some animals that hibernate, where they hibernate, and why.
