Happy New Year 4H
Welcome 2023! Welcome Back to 4H! A fresh new year and start, I can't wait to get back to learning in all our classes! We will prepare for our upcoming I-ready testing, ski club adventures and fun in and out of our classes.
Religion: We will take a closer look at the first 3 of the Ten Commandments. These are God's Law for his people. The first 3 commandments help us to show love & respect for God.
Reading: In our reading unit we focused on close reads in many informational texts that will go along nicely with our science unit on classification. We will always focus on vocabulary, main idea, reading comprehension, and writing. We will also be continuing our novel study, Because of Winn Dixie in addition to our My View Curriculum.
Science (4th Grade): We will dive deep into our study of plants this month. Pollination, fertilization, and germination are among our vocab words that we are now experts on. We learned that plants make their own food through photosynthesis that is sugar, and we call it glucose. Fibrous roots and tap roots are very unique and different but all roots help plants to take in the nutrients and water they need for survival.
Science (5th Grade): Blasting off into the Solar System!! Do you remember this fun way of remembering the order of the planets, My Very Excited Mother Just Served Us Noodles!! We will be learning all about our planets and stars. The 5th grade classes will design and present their own 'commercials' on why we should move to each planet. At the end of our unit, they will design their own planet and build it! This is unit is a student favorite for sure!
