April Showers Bring May Flowers!

Although a bit early, each student will plant seeds this month. The class will enjoy observing the growth of their plants and will have opportunities to take care of their own plants each day.

With the completion of the alphabet, we have begun the ‘word families'. The students are writing complete sentences using high frequency words, which are our class caterpillar words. The pieces of the puzzles are coming together and the results are amazing! They enjoy coming up to the front of the class and sharing their work with the class!

Measurement is our math unit this month. Hands-on activities provides practice and is a great way to help the children relate what they are learning to everyday life. We plan to measure our plants, as well as use some tools to measure objects inside the classroom.

God’s gifts of Spring and the new life are the lessons we learn about. The class is enjoying the change of seasons and warmer weather! We continue to learn about Jesus and his life. The students also pray the rosary each week on Mondays. The character trait this month is the Egret, who teaches Virtue and Integrity by doing what is right.

Friday, April 19th is Earth Day. It is a free dress day. The class will learn about simple ways to conserve energy and recycle. We will have a Poetry Slam event and we will spend our morning cleaning up trash around the school.

It is a short month and busy with new learning experiences.

The Spring break is April 22nd-26th.   Enjoy!
