Fall News

Wow!  The past two months have really gone by fast.  The remote students are participating, sharing work, and doing an awesome job overall.  Our in person students are wearing masks, cleaning desks, cleaning hands, and very excited to be in the class.

In Religion, we study the Old Testament.  We follow the patriarchs and learn from their experiences.  Soon we will start our Jesse tree project, where we learn about Jesus' family tree.

In Spelling, use www.spellingcity.com for your weekly words.  The list is in my name for the sixth grade.  Weekly work is always due on Thursdays and tests are on Fridays.

In Math, the students are mastering the basics.  They have been adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing their way through whole numbers and decimals.  The sixth grade brings pre-algebra into every unit.  They have also started working with integers, while the fifth grade is delving into fractions.  We are keeping busy, but their is always time for extra help.  The fifth grade's extra help is Monday at 8 AM, and the 6th grade has their time on Thursdays at 8, as well.  We will start mandatory IXL due the first Friday of December.  Keep a lookout for a letter from me.
